Credentialing Assistant (OA)

Prepares and forwards the Application for Medical Staff and a request for clinical privileges to perspective medical staff applications. Coordinates the timely completion of all credentials and privileging documents, including all required independent verifications. Coordinates the administrative activities related to the credentialing and privileging procedures for medical providers. Activities will include coordinating the orientation of all new medical staff members to the following areas:
1) medical records 2) pharmacy 3) personnel 4) safety and infection control 5) contract health services 6) nursing and 7) medical staff bylaws. Residents and medical students will be oriented to at least the first four of the above areas. Initiates and maintains current credentials and privileging folders for all members of the medical staff as outlined in the facility's Medical Staff Bylaws/Rules and Regulations, current IHS policy and current TJC standards. Initiates (and completes whenever feasible) primary source verification requests on medical licensure, board certification, medical school of graduation, residency and other post-graduate training and any other pertinent training. Tracks medical staff membership, clinical privileges and licensures/certifications to ensure that they do not expire. When applicable, evidence of medical liability insurance will also be tracked to ensure it does not expire. To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. For positions requiring positive education requirements, or if you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume. Qualifications:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
Have 1 year of specialized experience that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples include:
process applications for consulting and regular staff membership and clinical privileges:
manage a variety of reports and data to include appropriate tracking systems for quarterly service unit documentation; assist employees with background clearance forms and automated background investigation system- Initiate procedures for verifying and authenticating licenses and certificates for ancillary personnel within the organization to include contract personnel:
assist each department in the organization with the agency standards; coordinate travel and/or meeting arrangements. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
