Interview patients to obtain pertinent patient registration information, i.e., demographical and third party resource information and authorization to enable the facility to submit claims for all health care services provided. Interview patients for admission, pre-admission, or surgical procedures for CIH Dental services. Obtain all releases and forms needed by completing admission forms, obtaining pre-certification and provides nursing staff with admission forms and bracelets as needed. Obtain and verify the health record number and any third party resource information prior to all clinic visits. Interview patient to obtain information to initiate a new health record and/or reactivate a retired/stored record. To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. For positions requiring positive education requirements, or if you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume. Applicants must meet the following typing proficiency:
40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-04) in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-05:
Have at least one full year of specialized experience documenting and referring inquiries that require technical knowledge to the appropriate sources, prepared written correspondence for review and signature, providing patient registration and eligibility services information, interacting with patients to obtain and process demographic and insurance information for alternates resources, private and commercial insurance, and scheduling patients. OR Have 4 years of education above the high school level. OR Have a combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position . Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for GS-05 grade level. Typing Proficiency:
The typing proficiency requires applicants to type 40 words per minute based on a five minute sample with three or fewer errors. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
