Cleaning duties in accordance with established housekeeping procedures and methods. Clean and sanitize floor surfaces throughout specified hospital areas by use of dry vacuum cleaners and the two-bucket germicidal damp mopping technique. Strip, waxes and spray buffs hard floor surfaces (such as vinyl tiling and non-conductive terrazzo) on a scheduled basis by using the floor scrubbing machine. Collect all general refuse from waste receptacles throughout specified hospital areas, including infectious wastes. Clean and sanitize the interior surfaces of walls, windows, and ceilings of hospital rooms, offices, and restrooms, including drinking fountains, lavatories, furniture, and the like. Keep restroom in clean, sanitary, and orderly condition. Provide needed supplies (toilet tissue, hand towels, hand soap, and deodorants) for all restrooms in staff and patient care areas. NOTE:
By law, selection for this position is primarily restricted to individuals entitled to Veterans Preference. With few exceptions by law, nonveterans who are not permanently employed at the applicable Service Unit/Area Office cannot be selected when there are Veterans Preference eligibles available. Follow oral or written instructions and/or work orders; perform janitorial/custodial, and grounds maintenance duties, including mopping, waxing, and polishing floors; cleaning walls, ceilings, room partitions and polishing fixtures; emptying trash receptacles. Perform ice and snow removal from sidewalks and entrance ways; cleanup spills, debris, and litter from common areas; and remove soiled and/ or contaminated items following strict procedures to prevent cross contamination. You may need to lift and move heavy objects weighing over 50 pounds. You may need to stand for prolonged periods on concrete floors. You may need to bend, stoop, walk, stand and climb. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
