Medical Records Technician

Completion of Birth certificates and reviews of Death certificates. Analyses the Health Record for completeness, appropriateness and compliance. Routes the medical records to the respective practitioner for correction of deficiencies. Provides Support to Coding, Clinical and Administrative Staff. Perform timekeeping duties for the departmental staff, initiate and track Capital HR/EHRP recruits, as well as other human resource actions. Provide coding support by monitoring the coding backlog statics and investigate reason(s) for incomplete charts not ready to code. Review and complete census. Transfusion nd mortality committee processor. To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Qualifications:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-05:
One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples include:
analyzing the outpatient medical record in compliance with The Joint Commission Standards; adhering to HIPPA/Privacy Regulations; and experience with birth and death registers and files. OR Four (4) years of education above the high school level. OR A combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for GS-05 grade level. GS-06:
One (1) year of full-time specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples include:
analyzing the inpatient and outpatient medical record in compliance with The Joint Commission Standards; adhering to HIPPA Privacy Regulations; experience with birth and death registers and files; completing the medical record for accuracy for coding purpose; preparing and completing the Transfusion and Mortality reports and minutes; auditing daily census statistics and uploading daily transcription Typing Proficiency:
Type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
