Dentist (Oral Surgery)

Provide consultation, advice and guidance to staff members in the principles of oral surgical diagnosis, pre and post-operative care. Provide routine oral surgery services and regular encounters greater than usual dental health problems that require complex treatment. Perform periodontal procedures such as scaling, root planning, subgingival curettage as well as mucogingival surgery. Provide emergency services including the treatment of trauma (severe laceration of the face and lips), pain and infection. Use personal computer to input and retrieve automated electronic health record information. Participate in various committees with the service unit and Oklahoma area. Education:
Applicants must have a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Licensure:
Applicants must have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) which are developed and administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE) and possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. (You MUST list your Dentistry license number on your resume, along with the expiration date, OR submit a copy of your Dentistry license that includes expiration date.) You are a diplomat of the American Board of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery or Board eligible and in the process of becoming a diplomate. AND GS-13:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
Advanced professional knowledge and understanding of dentistry and the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery, highly developed diagnostic skills, expert treatment planning ability and considerable skill in administering treatment. OR Completion of a 3-year residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science. Medical RequirementsApplicants must be able to distinguish shades of color.
